Every act of giving carries a message of trust and compassion
UNHCR has released its Islamic Philanthropy Mid-Year Report 2026, highlighting the impact of Zakat and Sadaqah contributions on the lives of refugees and internally displaced people during the first half of the year.
Your giving in action
From January to June 2026, donors and partners contributed USD 19.1 million in Zakat and Sadaqah, enabling UNHCR to support more than 612,000 refugees and internally displaced people across 15 countries.
Of this total, the Refugee Zakat Fund received USD 16.7 million in Zakat, supporting more than 595,000 eligible people. A further USD 2.4 million in Sadaqah helped over 16,000 people, including Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh who benefited from access to clean water through Sadaqah Jariyah.
UNHCR’s Ramadan and Dhul Hijjah campaigns also provided vital assistance to more than 261,000 displaced people during the first half of 2026.
Beyond the figures, the report shares stories from the field, highlights key partnerships, and showcases efforts to strengthen cooperation with Al-Azhar in support of refugees and displaced people.
Your trust and generosity help make this assistance possible for families forced to flee.
